Look Back

When not able to write ahead, it helps to look back. In my case I had written a paragraph ahead of the story. What I needed to do was add a section of exposition (talking) presenting some facts. In going back, I realized that I could insert a section where a 'tour' of the surroundings could be done. This allowed for character interaction, story development, and other things that enabled me to present the facts in an entertaining manner.

One should not face a writer's block with the mentality of bursting through it. I have found in my own experience that a writer's block is usually due to my mind indicating that it has a problem in 'channeling' the story. One reason might be a re-imagining of certain story points. Another reason however is that there is a problem in where you are at in the story, so you need to look back and find out the problem with the 'journey' that prevents the tale from advancing.

PostSubject: Christmas and Taco Doritos   December 22nd 2010, 12:21 pm

God has opened up his heart and sent me a Christmas present. YEAH, GOD (Jesus, you are included in that -- Happy Birthday!)! I am sitting here eating Taco Doritos. I lived on those things in college. They are what I consider the perfect seasoning for a chip. Wonderful things.

I still don't like Jay Leno. All that time that he was saying, "We'll make more," I was pining for my Taco Doritos. The man was lying, and I hope that he burns in Hell.

Doritos has gone on to make some really horrible seasonings. 'Midnight Tacos' are what I hope the devils in Hell feed Jay Leno when he gets hungry. The taste of artificial lettuce is a rancid vulgar sensation. I live in the South, and take pleasure in spicy food. What Doritos calls hot, I call tasteless. They need to let me cook for them. I will give them heat WITH flavor.

Anyway, I had relegated Taco Doritos to one of the things that I would have to wait for Heaven to experience (the other is a computer operating system that SUPPORTS what I am wanting to do). Well, I am in a fine mood today, and will stay that way as long as the supply of Taco Doritos last.

I hope all of you are also having good things happen to you during this holiday time. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Fantasy puts more requirements on the writer than any other fiction, because the world must be made as real before anything else can be real.
Adult Christian fiction quite different than all the usual lame stuff in that market.  "Dilemma of Dreams" now in hard back.

Surprisingly I have never seen this post. You are a funny man Terish. I however cannot stand Taco Doritos. They do not taste like tacos, at least not how tacos are suppose to taste to me anyway. Maybe your pallete is stuck in your college days and hasn't quite caught up to you now, at least for that particular item.

It is like saying Ramen noodles taste great! They don't, it is just my cheap palate from college. But that is just me. Ha! Hope your stash of Taco Doritos is plentiful still!!

Easy reading is damn hard writing! I love you
