The streets were deserted. Where was everyone? Where had they all gone?

Writing Tip

Look Back

When not able to write ahead, it helps to look back. In my case I had written a paragraph ahead of the story. What I needed to do was add a section of exposition (talking) presenting some facts. In going back, I realized that I could insert a section where a 'tour' of the surroundings could be done. This allowed for character interaction, story development, and other things that enabled me to present the facts in an entertaining manner.

One should not face a writer's block with the mentality of bursting through it. I have found in my own experience that a writer's block is usually due to my mind indicating that it has a problem in 'channeling' the story. One reason might be a re-imagining of certain story points. Another reason however is that there is a problem in where you are at in the story, so you need to look back and find out the problem with the 'journey' that prevents the tale from advancing.

PostSubject: TerishD Quiet   March 29th 2016, 7:45 am

Just so everyone knows, I went through some flooding. Nothing major, as my house was up enough to keep us relatively dry. I am sure the insulation under the floor is ruined (and I had just put it in), but that is not nearly as bad as others around here.

Anyway, my time without internet had me rethink some things. While I thoroughly enjoy my stories, I am considering whether to keep posting them or start pandering to publishers. I am still here, and will comment should anyone have anything to comment on.

I have been gone for a time. Lost internet due to flooding, and decided to make a complete break in an attempt to seek a more professional level. That did not work. Everything turned so bad that I am back working at a regular job. Not going to sink any lower, I am going to restart a story.

I am not going to restart/continue the TimeSaga series. I did enjoy it, and plan on finishing what I wanted to do one day. At the moment I just want something simple and what others might consider fun. The story will start on Friday.

Note that I have been dropping by almost daily. I am thus here to trade comments or read your gripes.
