Monthly Writing Prompt
For this month's writing prompt write a scene using the following sentence to start;

The streets were deserted. Where was everyone? Where had they all gone?

Writing Tip
Our monthly writing tips are written by our very own TerishD. You can read more in Terish's Blog located in "The Abstractions" area of the forum.

Look Back

When not able to write ahead, it helps to look back. In my case I had written a paragraph ahead of the story. What I needed to do was add a section of exposition (talking) presenting some facts. In going back, I realized that I could insert a section where a 'tour' of the surroundings could be done. This allowed for character interaction, story development, and other things that enabled me to present the facts in an entertaining manner.

One should not face a writer's block with the mentality of bursting through it. I have found in my own experience that a writer's block is usually due to my mind indicating that it has a problem in 'channeling' the story. One reason might be a re-imagining of certain story points. Another reason however is that there is a problem in where you are at in the story, so you need to look back and find out the problem with the 'journey' that prevents the tale from advancing.

We would like to know everyone's honest opinion on the new site.

Please tell us what you think, and if you have any suggestions feel free to share them with us.

There are many features still being worked on and functions not yet implemented. The Newsletter is still in the works as the code has been very unbearable to deal with. We hope that you like the upgrades but wanted to do a poll and get your honest opinion on things. Idea

Well I like the it, but I don't like.
There is no option to get back to the index page and I have to keep on clicking on home instead of a little link to the index page.
Like old times.
The colors are nice and what not, reminds me of something futuristic.
But I am missing this one feature.

I don't really know what you are talking about, because we didn't change anything about the buttons etc. There are still the same ways to go back to the index, and if you are just talking about to go back to the separate forums, well you still have that option on top.

I believe Leaka means that there used to be 'Scribbles' in the directory listing. You thus did not need to scroll all the way to the top to get back to the main index. That has bothered me as well, especially after a post, as I am all the way at the bottom of the page and the 'Home' button is all the way at the top of the page. It would be convenient to put the main directory in the directory listing.

Adult Christian fiction quite different than all the usual lame stuff in that market.  "Dilemma of Dreams" now in hard back.
